Occupy Cal: Police brutality in Berkeley (video)

Miles Matthews, RT.com, Occupy Cal, The Daily Californian, Wisdom Quarterly
(Nov. 10, 2011) Our own media won't cover what really happens, but , the British tabloid press, CBC.ca, and Al Jazeera sometimes will.

(Video by Miles Mathews, CalTV) US paramilitary forces in riot gear clashed with dissenting students at Cal Berkeley after demonstrators refused to dismantle their Occupy Cal camp. Tents were erected following a march protesting tuition fee increases for students -- in solidarity with the broader Occupy Wall Street movement. Several activists were arrested, some were beaten with impunity by police with batons, guns, spies, mace, cannons, and secret disorienting weapons.

Occupy Cal protest sees large crowds, police violence
Amruta Trivedi (DailyCal.org)
On a day marked by large crowds and violence between protesters and police, UC Berkeley students and community members established an Occupy Cal encampment on Sproul Plaza, despite it going directly against campus policy.

The encampment, approved in a nearly unanimous general assembly vote by the protest’s participants, was formed to show solidarity with the national Occupy movement but focused on the increased privatization of the UC system... More (Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011 at 1:01 am, updated at 4:19 am).

UC students were arrested and suffered injuries following a police crackdown on an attempted campus. "We had the tents set up for about a half an hour when the police decided they wanted to shut down the camp," student protester Eric Uribe recalled in an interview with RT.

"What the students did is they set up a human wall around the tents. Soon after that, the police approached with full force in riot gear, with batons. We had no intention to move, but they jabbed some of us repeatedly in the stomach, pulling people onto the floor and arresting them." Hundreds of protesters had gathered at the town's Sproul Plaza to protest against tuition fee increases and public education funding cuts.

Bigfoot exists; PR campaigns seed doubt

Wisdom Quarterly, RT.com
Evidence for the Yeti or Abominable Snowman tumbles in from Siberia (RT.com)

We have gotten a flood of comments sharing news stories that Yetis (yakshas in Buddhist cosmology) and Bigfoot exist.

It was only a matter of time before the powers that be and "official" science gatekeepers (journal editors, faculty committees, funding approvers, etc.) relented in the face of mounting modern evidence.

Never mind the centuries-old evidence handed down among indigenous people all over the world. Maybe there's still a chance, maybe this story can still be buried. No "civilized" person believed in the existence of mountain gorillas until a century ago, and most of the world still has no idea what a bonobo is as they are quickly pushed to extinction.

(today24news.com)

Public relations campaigns have been orchestrated to dismiss and ridicule reports for decades. It does not take much to seed doubt and ridicule. Governments have known for a long time about Bigfoot, other monsters, and alien visitors. But we sleep well in the Matrix not knowing about such things, which could bring us closer to the truth and take us farther from capitalist-consumer-wage-slavery.

Within a Hair of Bigfoot
RT.com
The Russian Academy of Sciences has said it is highly likely that the Bigfoot really exists. Experts came to the conclusion after carrying out a microscopic analysis of hairs believed to belong to the yeti found in the Kuzbass region of Siberia.

In early October, professors from the USA, Canada, Sweden, Estonia, and Russia came to the Kuzbass region to look for evidence that would prove the existence of the Bigfoot. The trip was not in vain -- footprints apparently belonging to the yeti were found dotted all over the inside of the Azass cave where the creature is thought to live.

The follicular evidence was found stuck to a huge footprint on the cave’s clay floor. Professors from Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Idaho Universities got themselves a couple of precious hairs each to do the necessary research. The hairs turned out to be identical to ones that allegedly belonged to a Californian yeti, another from the Russian Urals, and a third from the Leningrad region, writes Komsomolskaya Pravda.

The first to make the fantastic discovery was Prof. Valentin Sapunov, a member of the New York Academy, St. Petersburg Scientific University -- a geneticist and biophysicist.

“In St. Petersburg the hairs were examined through a special microscope,” said Valentin Sapunov. “This is a complicated, but a very efficient method. The hairs were sprayed with a chemical composition, and then various slices of the hairs were examined. This gave us an opportunity to draw comparisons between the hairs of different biological species,” the professor explained. More

Kaddafi is alive; Western media hoax (video)

The official reports coming over the Western media are false. Gaddafi (Kaddafi, Qaddafi) is alive -- injured or not, RT was told by Stephen Lendman, an American radio host, author, and blogger, who got the news from the independent Mathaba News agency.

“I’m very skeptical of the so-called official reports,” at least media from NATO countries taking part in the Libyan campaign should be distrusted.

The blogger also does not believe the latest news that one of Gaddafi's sons, Mutasim, has also reportedly just been killed in Sirte.

“Western media reports are absolutely falsified -- Sirte is not controlled by the NTC, neither is Bani Walid, and as a matter of fact, Tripoli as well,” states Stephen Lendman, saying he admires the loyalist forces who, after seven months of hard stand-off against the world’s most advanced military powers, have the ability to continue fight against Western-led mercenaries.

“Western media is lying, the official reports are lying -- the balance is going back and force,” he claims.

Stephen Lendman informs that as far as he knows, most of the Libyan cities -- including that of Benghazi -- are under loyalist control. More

Russian and American patriotism (video)

Joe Bendel (Libertas Film Magazine)
Russians were apparently better 1950's style all-American US patriots.

Even though he was badly hung-over, he knew there was a national crisis. Though the bleary-eyed Russian did not know at the time the hard line Communist coup had deposed Mikhail Gorbachev, he saw that Swan Lake was the only program on television. For some reason, the Soviets always broadcasted the Tchaikovsky ballet during periods of internal turmoil. It is telling details like this that connect the personal to the grandly historical in Robin Hessman’s My Perestroika, which screened earlier this year at New Directors/New Films.

A Russophile in high school, Hessman was working for LENFILM, the Soviet film agency based in what was then Leningrad, at the time of the infamous coup. Through her time working and studying in Russia, Hessman developed a keen appreciation for the stoic nobility of average Russian citizens, which is clearly reflected in Perestroika. Using five former classmates as representative everymen, Hessman subjectively presents the last 40-some years of Russian and Soviet history through their reminiscences and home movies. More

Burning Man from Space
Burning Man from 373 miles above Earth: A European space satellite took photos of the 2011 Burning Man [Labor Day week] festival in the Nevada desert.

(CSM) Burning Man is a weeklong art and self-expression festival that meets every year around Labor Day. This year, it runs from Aug. 29 to Sept. 5. Attendance was capped at 50,000, and the event sold out in July. This year marks the 25th anniversary... The event began modestly in 1986, when a handful of friends torched an 8-foot (2.4-m) wooden man on a San Francisco beach. More

The UFOs have landed? (video)

Sarah Graham (DailyMail.co.uk)

Proof at last? This screen grab from the video shows an apparent UFO approaching the ground with unearthly beings that alight and look around.

The aliens have landed: Amazing footage shows "little green men walking about after UFO touchdown"...but why does it always happen in Siberia?

For an alien looking to explore Earth, the frozen wastes of Siberia may not be the most attractive of landing locations. But if this film footage is to be believed, that's exactly where these "little green men" chose to land their UFO.

The clip, filmed in the remote Irkutsk region of Siberia, appears to show a strange glowing craft and five aliens walking about in the snow.

It shows what seems to be an alien about four feet tall, standing 15 feet away from its glowing craft, with four other similar figures nearby. The short clip was taken two days after mysterious lights illuminated the Siberian night skies above Bayanday, also in Irkutsk.

"These two videos from two independent witnesses show that a UFO event of Roswell-sized proportions has taken place in Russia," said UFO expert Mike Cohen. More

The Boy Who Played on the Buddhas of Bamiyan

Wisdom Quarterly (ANALYSIS)
The Boy Who Plays on the Buddhas of Bamiyan (Phil Grabsky, Großbritannien, 2004)

The real Kapilavastu, where the buddha-to-be grew up, was likely not Nepal but Bamiyan, Afghanistan at the foothills of the Himalayan range -- or some such location in Baluchistan (Iran/Afghanistan/Pakistan), Central Asia, the ancient frontier of India.

This may seem odd, but Siddhartha was fair (golden), blue eyed, tall, and came from the west to India proper, where he became the Buddha in Bihar state and began teaching near Varanasi. The oldest Buddhist monastery discovered to date is 2,600-year-old Mes Aynak, Afghanistan, where so many of his family members (the Shakyans) might have gone to practice after ordaining.

The Buddha's father, King Suddhodana, gained faith when the Buddha visited seven years after leaving and, close to his death, became enlightened with the Buddha's help. His mother, Maha Prajapati Gotami, became the first Buddhist nun in history and also became enlightened. Many Shakyans such as Yasodhara (his wife), Rahula (his son), Ananda, Nanda, Sundari Nanda, Devadatta (his half-siblings often called cousins), Anuruddha, Kimbila... followed the Buddha and the Dharma and became part of the Sangha.

In this German film, a family struggles for survival amid the rubble of the Buddha statues of Bamiyan -- after their destruction by the CIA-backed Mujahadeen. Who were the Mujahadeen? Afghan tribal warlords? No, there were no such thing. Afghan and Pashtun culture have no history of such things -- even though that is the propaganda we are fed daily to justify America's most expensive, longest running, and most opaque war.

The Mujahadeen -- as well as Al Qaeda and the CIA's own Osama bin Laden -- were outsiders, criminals, released convicts (brought in from neighboring Islamic countries such as Pakistan) who were being encouraged to fight Russia in defense of Afghanistan with the secret help and military backing of the United States. See InvisibleHistory.com for the sordid details by American scholars Fitzgerald & Gould.

The reasons we are given in defense of endless war are psy-ops and propaganda. Unfortunately, the disinformation campaigns infect Hollywood, which goes on to produce modern propaganda films like "Charlie Wilson's War" featuring Tom Hanks. Blame the mess on a Texas Congressman. Blame it on a 6' 6" tall asuran billionaire cave-dwelling warlord and 9/11 mastermind. Blame anyone but our CIA or Pentagon.

But it all ties together the inscrutable range of topics regularly covered by Wisdom Quarterly, which must strike some readers as odd:

Afghanistan, Buddhism, extraterrestrials (and UFOs), giants or "titans," CIA abuses, 1984, US propaganda, war, Islam, Zoroastrianism, our military-industrial complex, Osama bin Laden, the 9/11 false flag operation, forbidden archeology, and endless government deception. It matters why our government (both elected and secret) actually fights wars as one of the most violent empires trying to rule the planet. Peace is hardly sustainable in the midst of deception. But when truth is found then peace comes quite naturally.

Why are we in Afghanistan?

A haunting question so difficult to explain is, Why are we in Afghanistan? Why would the US military be willing to spend a trillion dollars or more in this region? Four trillion are estimated as the cost of current US wars.

  • What does the US military-industrial complex, the American Empire, want with it?
  • What did the Soviet Empire (USSR) want with it when the CIA was fighting them by funding the Taliban?
  • What did the British Empire want with India's Northwest Frontier Area (now Afghanistan and Pakistan)?
  • What did the Greek (Bactrian or or Greco-Indian) Empire?

One incredible story in the EU Times describes a wrecked "time machine" embedded in the ground and a labyrinth of underground military bases. That would certainly accord with Buddhist cosmology of ancient astronauts and alien visitation in the region from Sumer (Mt. Sumeru?) to the Hindu Kush range to the Himalayas.

Elizabeth Gould and Paul Fitzgerald explain the "invisible history" of how the American Empire and previous empires have tried to conquer and rule what we now call Afghanistan. This Zero Line region (squeezed between Iran and Pakistan and topped by former Soviet states now independent "Fill in the Blank-istan" countries) in Central Asia is collectively and loosely called the "Geopolitical Middle East."

Today (listen at Audio Archives, KPFK.org, July 1, 2011, 10:00 AM) on the Michael Slate Show (Pacifica Radio) author Larry Everest provided a brief but compelling explanation of why Obama-CIA and Bush-Cheney before that have had to gain control of Afghanistan at all costs.
Control was wrested away from the Soviets, but this has simply been the unbroken rule of the British. This may sound preposterous unless we understand that today's clandestine services around the world (from the CIA, NSA, Mossad, etc.) are structured and headed by Mi6.

Legal Islamic Sex Slavery?

Nonie Darwish (frontpagemag.com, June 13, 2011)
"Slut walks," such as this one in London, protest the abuse of women (AFP/Carl Court).

Russian Blondes Wanted for Islamic Sexual Slavery
When Muslim sheikhs discuss the topic of the sexual enslavement of women -- which is allowed in the Qur’an -- it sounds politically incorrect to the majority of Muslims.

They have long forgotten that slavery is a well-established institution in Islam. Saudi Arabia officially abolished slavery only in 1962, not because Islam made the Saudis do it, but because the US-backed Saudis wanted to save face after an international cry against modern slavery.

But now some Muslims are demanding its return. So Muslim spinmeisters are advocating the embarrassing, but legal, topic through the mouths of Muslim women.

A Kuwaiti woman (Salwa al-Mutair), a former candidate to the Kuwaiti parliament and called an “activist,” spoke to the Kuwait Times about the establishment of a new law permitting men to buy and sell non-Muslim girls, captured in jihad, as sexual slaves.

It is said said that this is in order to protect Muslim men against seductive sexual immorality. The Arabic Al Arabiya had more details on what Ms. Salwa al-Mutairi is advocating:

Ms. Mutairi was nice enough to put the minimum age at 15 for slave girls to be sold, whether Christian, Jew, or other. She demanded the immediate establishment of slave agencies just like maid agencies... More

Cemetery of Giants found in Central Africa

English.pravda.ru (June 24, 2011)
Other giant skeletal remains have been found but the evidence is soon buried and not considered a topic for "respectable" archeology, anthropology, or evolution since it suggests extraterrestrial visitation, miscegenation, and genetic manipulation.

A cemetery of giant creatures has been found in Africa. A team of anthropologists found a mysterious burial in the jungle near the city of Kigali Rwanda, central Africa.

The remains belong to gigantic creatures that bear little resemblance to humans. The head of research group believes that they could be visitors from another planet who died as a result of a catastrophe.

According to the scientists, they were buried at least 500 years ago. At first, researchers thought that they came across the remains of ancient settlements, but no signs of human life have been found nearby.

The 40 communal graves had approximately 200 bodies in them, all perfectly preserved. The creatures were tall -- approximately seven feet. Their heads were disproportionately large and they had no mouth, nose, or eyes.

The anthropologists believe that the creatures were members of an alien landing, possibly destroyed by some terrestrial virus to which they had no immunity. However, no traces of the landing of the spacecraft or its fragments were discovered. More

Female hairdresser turns male robber into sex slave
A young hairdresser in Kaluga, Central Russia, locked a robber who tried to steal her money in the basement of the beauty salon. After that, she has brutally raped her hostage for three days. A court in Kaluga has filed criminal charges against both of them, the Russian website Newsru.com reports. The robber, who has not been named, burst into the salon armed with shotgun at about 17.00 on March 14. He demanded money. There were two hairdressers and one client in the salon at the time. One of hairdressers, who was studying judo and taekwondo, disabled the robber with a smashing body blow. Then she carried the unlucky robber to the basement and bound him with a hairdryer cord....

Area 51 Uncensored: UFOs or USSR trick?

Terri Gross (NPR, Fresh Air, WHYY, May 17, 2011)
U.S. Geological Survey "Area 51" from above in 1968
[The cover up continues with a new and outrageous twist: Russian genetic anomalies in a UFO-like spy plane were crashed in the US to scare Americans.]

Seventy-five miles north of Las Vegas sits a land parcel in the middle of the desert. Called Area 51, the parcel is just outside of the abandoned Nevada Test and Training Range, where more than 100 atmospheric bomb tests were conducted in the 1950s.

Officially, the U.S. government has never acknowledged the existence of Area 51. Unofficially, it has become a place associated with conspiracy theories, alien landings and tiny spaceships.

Journalist Annie Jacobsen tells Fresh Air's Terry Gross that the site has remained classified for many years -- not because of aliens or spaceships, but because the government once used the site for top-secret nuclear testing and weapons development.

In Area 51: An Uncensored History of America's Top Secret Military Base, Jacobsen details how several agencies -- including the Atomic Energy Commission, the Department of Defense and the CIA -- once used the site to conduct controversial and secretive research on aircraft and pilot-related projects, including planes that traveled three times faster than the speed of sound and nuclear-propelled, space-based missile launch systems.

Operation Plumbbob
In the summer and fall of 1957, a series of atmospheric nuclear tests -- called Operation Plumbbob -- were conducted above ground at the Nevada testing and training range, located just outside of Area 51.

Twenty-nine explosions were set off while tests were conducted on troop readiness, accidental detonations and the effects of flying debris on living targets, according to documents declassified by the Department of Energy that Jacobsen details in her book.

During the explosions, security officer Richard Mingus stood guard outside many of the weapons-testing sites, including one with the largest atmospheric bomb that has ever exploded in the United States. More

Why the Media misses the story

Indo-Greek Gandhara Triad (Asoka: Buddhism from Asia to Scandinavia/Flickr)

This early Buddhist triad from the 2nd-3rd century CE is from Gandhara (Musée Guimet, personal photograph). Left to right: A Kushan devotee, Bodhisattva Maitreya (future buddha), the historical Buddha, Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, and a Buddhist monk.

AfPak invasions in ancient Buddhist areas
Wisdom Quarterly
In spite of its long Buddhist history, spanning back to Siddhartha's renunciation and search for supreme-enlightenment, Afghanistan-Pakistan (ancient Gandhara) were invaded for reasons having more to do with strategic advantage and natural resources than obscuring Buddhist history. They border Iran and are therefore lumped into the "geopolitical Middle East."

The Taliban brought the giant Bamiyan Buddha statue to the world's attention -- by blowing it up and attempting to cover up its rich pre-Islamic cultural history. The area was until only recently a part of greater India.

But protecting artifacts, women, innocent civilians, and above strategic advantage prompted the CIA, NATO, and US forces to invade, oppress, and colonize these two war-torn countries. Why? And why will the media not provide sensible explanations?

Wisdom Quarterly recently spoke to Paul Fitzgerald about the Buddhist history of Afghanistan, a connection he was already aware of and intrigued by. As he explained, the region has a spiritual feel that is difficult to explain.

Moreover, an official secretly revealed a figurine he found that struck him because of the Buddha's obvious non-Asian features. It was long believed that the Buddha was westernized as the Dharma moved west, when in fact it originated in the northwest region of frontier India.

Gandhara-style Buddha figures, which appear Greco-Indian, more likely represent how he actually looked. The media overlooks this, but its not the only history of Afghanistan and Pakistan it ignores:

Rory O'Connor (invisiblehistory.com)
A unique husband and wife team, Paul Fitzgerald and Elizabeth Gould have reported for decades on the issues and conflicts in Afghanistan and Pakistan. In the spring of 1981 they received the first visas to enter Afghanistan granted to an American TV crew and produced an exclusive news story for the CBS Evening News.

They also produced a documentary for PBS, returned in 1983 for ABC Nightline, and later worked under contract to Oliver Stone on a film version of their experience.

In 1989 the Soviet Union finally withdrew its forces from Afghanistan. And the Cold War soon ended with the dissolution of the USSR in 1991. But as civil war followed in Afghanistan, the United States also walked away.

And in 1994, a new strain of religious holy warrior called the Taliban arose, sweeping into Afghanistan from Pakistan. By 1998, as the horrors of the Taliban regime began to grab headlines, Fitzgerald and Gould began collaborating with Afghan human rights advocate Sima Wali, filming her return from exile and producing another film.

In the years since 9/11 they continued to follow the Af/Pak story closely, ultimately writing a book entitled Invisible History: Afghanistan’s Untold Story. Their latest effort, Crossing Zero: The AfPak War at the Turning Point of American Empire, examines what they call “the bizarre and often paralyzing contradictions of America’s strategy” in the region.

Crossing Zero has been hailed by Daniel Ellsberg as “a ferocious, iron-clad argument about the institutional failure of American foreign policy in Afghanistan and Pakistan.” And it has been praised by filmmaker Stone, who noted that Fitzgerald and Gould “have been most courageous in their commitment to telling the truth -- and have paid a steep price for it. Their views have never been acceptable to mainstream media in our country, but they deserve accolades.”

Media reformer Norman Solomon, author of War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death, called their latest work “a searing expose of distortions that have fundamentally warped U.S. perceptions and actions in the ‘AfPak’ region.”

And onetime CIA Senior Soviet Analyst Melvin A. Goodman said it should be “required reading at the National Security Council and the Pentagon.”

Rory O'Connor recently interviewed the authors about how the media has reported -- and misreported -- the ongoing story of the “AfPak war” during the past three decades. Read the full interview

Pakistan once had a large Buddhist population. Gandhara (northwestern Pakistan/eastern Afghanistan) was mostly Mahayana Buddhist but also a stronghold of Vajrayana Buddhism. The Swat Valley (ancient Uddiyana) was a kingdom tributary to Gandhara. There are many Buddhist archaeological sites in Swat (Matloob Ali/Flickr).

Although raised in Kapilavastu (near Bamiyan, Afghanistan), the historical Buddha was born in Lumbini, close to his mother's parent's territory. Indologist Dr. Pal posits that this garden park was in Baluchistan, in the vicinity of modern Kandahar province, Afghanistan, close to northwest Pakistan, near modern Iran, an area of great strategic to the US military to exploit and the stridently Islamic populations to conceal.

Math genius explains $1M prize refusal

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia (UPI) - Grigory Perelman, the Russian math whiz who solved a century-old problem, said he refused a $1 million prize because he knows "how to control the universe."

Perelman, 43, of St. Petersburg told the Russian daily Komsomolskaya Pravda he had no reason to accept the $1 million prize the Clay Mathematics Institute of Cambridge, Massachussetts, offered him in 2010 for proving the Poincare conjecture, RIA Novosti reported Friday.

"Emptiness is everywhere and it can be calculated, which gives us a great opportunity... I know how to control the universe. So tell me, why should I run for a million?" Perelman said. More

China announces: Obama to reveal UFOs exist
EU Times (Jan. 23, 2011)

Hundreds of millions of Chinese citizens were stunned after government makes Obama UFO statement. They remain stunned today after China’s official government television news station Xinhua made their unprecedented January 4th announcement that the American president, Barack Obama, was preparing to announce to the world the existence of extraterrestrial races currently on our planet fueled by what they call an “extraterrestrial disclosure race” now developing between China and the US. Unfortunately for the American people, their propaganda media outlets have refused to allow them to know of this historic event. And even worse, they are keeping from these people [the Americans] the grave and dire situation facing our entire planet as we near what the ancients called “The End of Days.”

JFK Demanded UFO Files Prior to Assassination
NowPublic, April 19, 2011

JFK Requested UFO Files From FBI: What Do We Know About Aliens? Just ten days before he was assassinated [by a government plot], US President John F. Kennedy sent a letter to the CIA demanding information on UFO intelligence.

Kennedy wanted to share UFO intelligence with Moscow in order to expedite joint space exploration and UFO investigations amid the chill of the Cold War: "It is important that we make a clear distinction between the knowns and unknowns in the event the Soviets try to mistake our extended cooperation as a cover for intelligence gathering of their defense and space programs."

JFK: "Tell Me About Aliens and UFOs"
The letter was sent on November 12, 1963. On the same day, JFK wrote to the director of NASA to orchestrate cooperative efforts in space exploration.

The timing of these letters will thrill conspiracy theorists, who will connect these requests with the death of JFK. The JFK-aliens connection has already been made. But the FBI vault will only throw fuel on the fire. What would Robbie Williams, pop star and UFO researcher, think?

FBI: Cattle Mutilations, Aliens, UFOs, Frank Sinatra

The FBI Vault has some fascinating releases, but the search functionality isn't perfect. Searching for "Roswell" turns up a file on Frank Sinatra, though no mention of the purported UFO crash site is actually mentioned in Sinatra's file. If you want to read FBI documents on cattle mutilations, and their suspected connections to cults and flying saucers, go for it.
