Sadly most US men suffer from "testosterone poisoning" or they behave like they do. From the example of our political leaders (Clinton's satyriasis, Hillary's lesbianism, Pres. Obama's bisexuality) to the use of toxic plastics and other major sources of xenoestrogens, our hormones are all over the map.

This hormone disruption is inflamed by hyper-masculinity in video games, sports, music, gun use and, oddly, homosexuality. Sexual misconduct of obsession and acting like wolves leads to indiscriminate behavior with almost any receptive and some unreceptive partner.

In the military, for example, sexual assault and rape are commonplace. Many of those attacks are male on male. Just as Afghan Pashtuns are accused and condemned for engaging in bacha bazi (dancing boy pederasty/molestation), US soldiers hypocritically engage in similar behavior in the name of top dog pirate/prison machismo. Pirates are famous for the booty they make off with, and they are not the only ones.

A new report, however, reveals that it is a biological trick. Genes and social training gear men for excessive interest in spreading seeds and making conquests, upping the chances of impregnating someone and spreading those genes. But when the baby comes, dwoop! Testosterone levels drop precipitously -- and with those levels attitudes must change uncomfortably. Suddenly it's my daughter, and I think I know what men are thinking when they look at her. Testosterone makes men, not fatherhood. But NPR disagrees.

"Playboy" and Men's Dreams

Crystal left Playboy's founder to make beautiful music with someone else, planning to cash in on a post "runaway bride" spectacle interview (FOX). Men's dream comes undone: Girls not included? Hefner a gay pandaka? Has "Playboy" been nothing but false advertising?

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, dumped by his fiancee days before their wedding, said Wednesday he is affixing "Runaway Bride" stickers over her picture on the cover of the magazine's upcoming issue.

Hefner, 85, announced a day earlier that 25-year-old Crystal Harris had "a change of heart," and that Saturday's wedding ceremony for 300 people at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles had been canceled.

In an unfortunate coincidence, Harris appears on the cover of the July Playboy issue, hitting newsstands Friday, described as "America's Princess ... Introducing Mrs. Crystal Hefner."

• The story, of course, is much funnier and stranger. Crystal Harris planned on abandoning Hugh Hefner at the altar -- in view of cameras for a big pay off selling her interview afterward. And she may have been having an affair with Dr. Phil's son all along.

The sad thing is that Hugh Hefner has essentially been living the life most men want. He has:

• a castle in Los Angeles
  
• millions coming in annually from destructive but exciting work
• potency-inducing pharmaceuticals
• gala parties
• and, best of all, an endless bevy of newly nubile "playmates" and "bunnies," Scandinavian twins in open marriages and group activities...

If Hef can't get it to work, what hope is there for the rest of us?

When lust (kamachanda, or tanha and lobha, "craving" and "greed") fails us, it suggests that maybe, just maybe, the Buddha was right:

Investing our energies and dreams in developing sensual desires -- and trying to satisfy them -- is not actually the way to happiness.

Craving, in fact, may be the problem causing our "suffering" -- our dissatisfaction, disappointment, and distress.

If that were true, freedom-from-craving would be the solution -- freedom-from-suffering (nirvana).

But what could be the path leading to such freedom? These four assertions are the centerpieces of Buddhism as a path to perfect liberation. But who will strive to be free without first realizing the disappointment of being enslaved to craving?

The police were shocked that 32-year-old Valeria K., a quiet good-looking woman from the city of Tambov, was the mysterious rapist who abused ten local men after poisoning them with Clonidine, Life.ru reports....

Female hairdresser turns male robber into sex slave
A young hairdresser in Kaluga, Central Russia, locked a robber who tried to steal her money in the basement of the beauty salon. After that, she has brutally raped her hostage for three days. A court in Kaluga has filed criminal charges against both of them, the Russian website Newsru.com reports. The robber, who has not been named, burst into the salon armed with shotgun at about 17.00 on March 14. He demanded money. There were two hairdressers and one client in the salon at the time. One of hairdressers, who was studying judo and taekwondo, disabled the robber with a smashing body blow. Then she carried the unlucky robber to the basement and bound him with a hairdryer cord....

Why yoga classes are mostly female

Misconceptions keep classes heavily female, instructors say
Despite the threat of tornadoes and hail, Jerry Lamp made it to yoga. Sirens started blaring by the time he made it out of class, padding barefoot from the studio to a bench at Inner Peace Yoga, 7718 E. 91st St., Tulsa, OK.

"I was in pretty rough shape when I started," Lamp said of himself when he started taking yoga in February 2010. "Blood pressure was through the roof. Just generally unhealthy."

Now, 15 pounds lighter with more muscle tone and greater flexibility, Lamp can't get enough of it. "I feel like a deadbeat if I don't do at least one set in a day," Lamp said. "It just keeps getting better."

Yes, he's heard the stereotypes and misconceptions about yoga that "It's for sissies," said Meghan Donnelly, Inner Peace's owner and instructor, who sat on the bench next to Lamp.



"That's a big misconception, that yoga is not manly," she said while we waited between classes, the next one at 8:30 p.m. with five or six guys in their 40s and 50s.

One who braved the storm was Mark Meese. "I always thought of yoga, before I started doing it, as something for women and little weird East Indian guys," said Meese, a general surgeon with Surgical Associates of Tulsa.

He knew yoga had a stigma. "Real men wouldn't do that," he said.

Funny thing is, men invented yoga, Donnelly said -- in India, as many as 3,000, even 4,000 years ago. It's only been in the past few centuries, maybe even as recently as 100 years, that women have been allowed to practice it in public.

In the 1960s and '70s, when yoga started growing in America, most teachers were male, Donnelly said. Now, most are women. And most of those taking classes are female -- 70 percent of her classes. More
