Occupying US with Glover and West (video)

Wisdom Quarterly: Voices for Change, Voices of Freedom

"Poverty is the greatest violence of all." Princeton University Prof. Cornel West laid it on the line protesting at the Supreme Court this weekend (Occupy DC, Oct. 16, 2011). Along with radio host Tavis Smiley, Prof. West recognizes that B.S. Obama is NOT the fulfillment of Martin Luther King's dream.

The fact of the matter is that "Barack Obama is the Black mascot of the Wall Street oligarchs."

Prof. West is not alone in recognizing the situation for what it is. The whitewash has fooled no one. Where is the "change" we voted for, we believed was coming, we were promised. Obama lies like a Bush -- and has successfully put through Bush policies Bush could not push through. "The new NAFTA" is further proof that Bush-Cheney are still in office in disguise. The CHANGE we voted for never came.

Actor Danny Glover delivers an impassioned, impromptu speech to peaceful demonstrators giving voice to a movement that encompasses ALL Americans, not simply taxpayers, youth, veterans, minorities, gays, union members, parents, teachers, police, firefighters, and mortgage holders.

Tavis Smiley and Dr. Cornel West tell it like it is: "Barack Obama is NOT the fulfillment pf Martin Luther King's dream!"

"Black Power Mixtape" is a Scandinavian exploration of African American voices of struggle during the 1960s on into the tumultuous '70s. Sweden sent a team of investigators to document and try to understand what the hippies, Black Panthers, civil rights movement members, and radicals were protesting and trying to accomplish during the greatest generation so far in our country's short history. Alternatives to Prison (video)

Wisdom Quarterly, StreetVisuals.posterous.com/Prison Industrial Complex

Is privatization and the creation of "Gladiator Schools" in a prison-industrial complex the answer?

If asking one prison to beat, maim, or kill another is not effective, torture is prescribed (forced cell extraction, sitting on, arm twisting, manhandling, hog tying, pepper spraying, stripping naked, beating, concussion, choke holds, beatings, shooting, blinding, and on to death) at the discretion of prison guards and officials. Crime? Disobeying or not obeying quickly enough to suit draconian standard procedures. This torture is filmed because it complies with standards and practices. The camera is turned off when guards choose to employ "cruel and unusual" measures they would never likely be prosecuted for or even charged with.

Energy caught over Egyptian pyramids

Prof. Boulter caught a series of high definition images showing massive spinning energy formation and other anomalies during light show (pyramidcode.com).

Coast to Coast featured the Egypt and Pyramids on July 27, 2011. Dr. Carmen Boulter, former professor at the University of Calgary and author of Angels and Archetypes: An Evolutionary Map of Feminine Consciousness, discussed evidence of levitation, free energy, and alchemy being used to construct the pyramids in Egypt. She is a principal contributor to the extraordinary series "The Pyramid Code."

Her message from over 25 visits to Egypt and years of research is accompanied by a warning that the current structure of civilization is not conducive to the empowerment of humans.

Psychic Phenomena Today (abhinna)

Wisdom Quarterly

What the West has labelled psychokinesis, ESP, or paranormal activity has a long history in Buddhism and India. Hinduism calls these natural powers, dormant in the vast majority of people, siddhis. Buddhism refers to them as abhinna (abhijñā, abhiññā) or "higher knowledges." They are rooted in meditative absorptions ("right concentration" or samma samadhi) either developed in this life or in past lives. The karmic ability manifests as a natural inclination or ability, which leads us to conclude that "either you're born with it or you're not." No one is "born" with it, as such. Everyone develops it. But having developed it in the past, it may manifest spontaneously. Then it will be misconstrued as having no cause, that is, something someone is simply born with for no reason. Whereas there are many stories of such things in Buddhist texts, Katie presents a modern case of paranormal powers:

The Gold Leaf Lady

and Other Parapsychological Investigations

Prof. Stephen E. Braude, Univ. of Maryland

Katie, the Gold Leaf Lady

I was seated across a table from a woman, no more than three feet away. And while we were talking, a small piece of gold-colored foil appeared suddenly on her face. I knew that her hands were nowhere near her face when this happened. In fact, I was certain they were in full view on the table the entire time. I knew also that if her husband, seated next to her, had placed the material on her face, I would have seen it clearly. But nobody’s hands had been anywhere near her face. So I knew that the material hadn’t been placed there; it appeared there, evidently without normal assistance.

This was one of several similar incidents that occurred during my most fascinating paranormal investigation: the case of a woman much of whose body -- not just parts of her face -- would break out in what looked like gold leaf. But first, some background. We need to be clear about just how unusual and potentially important this case is.

Parapsychologists study several interesting phenomena, but they focus primarily on the evidence for extrasensory perception (ESP), psychokinesis (PK), and survival of bodily death. Of course, many consider all of these incredible and unworthy of serious attention. Others agree that they’re extraordinary, but believe they’re both possible and worth studying. And still others consider at least some of the phenomena to be natural and part of everyday life. In fact, many would say ESP is merely a form of intuition and leave the matter there. More
