Meditation by Megan and Andrea (Against the Stream)
  • Monday, Nov. 21st, 11:00 am-12:15 pm
Everyone is invited to join a Sitting Meditation and Silent Peace Walk at Occupy Los Angeles. We will send positive intentions out into the world.

Let us be the change we want to see in the world -- as we generate the combined energy of mindfulness, calm reflection, loving-kindness, and insight. The 99% and the 1% are worthy of happiness and compassion. Let's sit and walk for protestors as well as police, slum lords and slum residents, householders and homeless. Poverty, unemployment, greed, and corruption are more than a domestic issue. Help create an environment for the 100% to come together in meditation and share the intention of creating peace, harmony, and freedom for ALL beings.

Simple acts contribute to a major paradigm shift. Why? Peace in ourselves creates peace in the world.

SCHEDULE
10:50 am - Gather, get settled
11:00 am - Sitting meditation
11:20 am - Peace Walk in silence
11:50 am - Sitting mediation (20 mins)

Organized by the Los Angeles Compassionate Heart Sangha, a mindfulness meditation group practicing in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh. No political affiliation.

NSA helps banks, spies on public

Andrea Shalal-Esa and Jim Finkle (Reuters EXCLUSIVE)
The US military does not work for the 99%. It works for the banks, who are part of the military-industrial complex. Together they form the 1%.

Exclusive: NSA helps banks
The National Security Agency [NSA, shown below], a secretive arm of the U.S. military, has begun providing Wall Street banks with intelligence on foreign hackers, a sign of growing fears of financial sabotage. The assistance from the agency that conducts electronic spying overseas is part of an effort by American banks and other financial firms to get help from the U.S. military and private defense contractors to fend off cyber attacks, according to interviews with U.S. officials, security experts and defense industry executives. Why Wall Street is being Occupied (video)

Wisdom Quarterly, Mediaite.com

Are the anti-corporatist ideals of the Occupy Wall Street movement safe on Real Time with Bill Maher? “The don’t really have a coherent message,” Maher complained about the Wall Street “hippies.” His audience loves the O.W.S. ideology. But until candidate Alan Grayson passionately stood up for the cause and got a standing ovation, Maher and his panel mocked the Occupation ruthlessly for their “bongo drums,” disorganization, and incoherence. More

What did Grayson say to get a standing ovation?
  • "Wall Street wrecked the economy three years ago -- and nobody's been held responsible for that."
  • "Not a single person has been indicted or convicted for destroying 20 percent of our national net worth accumulated over the course of two centuries."
  • "Wall Street has iron control over the economic policies of this country."
  • "One party is a wholly owned subsidiary of Wall Street, and the other party caters to them as well."

The Grayson message on The Rachel Maddow Show
  • "We should not have 24 million people in this country who can't find a full time job."
  • "We should not have 50 million people in this country who can't see a doctor when they're sick."
  • "We should not have 47 million people in this country who need government help in order to feed themselves."
  • "We should not have 15 million families who owe more on their mortgage than the value of their home."

What our Occupy Movement wants

What does the Occupy Movement want?
Wisdom Quarterly at Occupy LA, Berkeley, and Oakland

There are no "demands." But what do we the people, the 99%, want?

(
1) An end to corporate rule and stricter regulation of banking greed.
(2) An end to war (American occupations and hegemony around the world, covert actions by CIA/NSA/NSC and other clandestine agencies, and the Pentagon being in charge of US foreign policy).
(3) Jobs.
(4) An end to US prison culture and torture in US jails and abroad by US agents -- and instead a right to an education without being drowned in debt.
(5) Equality: fair treatment of ALL the people in this country.
(6) Government by the people for the people (not by and for corporations).
(7) Participatory-representative democracy that actually represents 99% of we the people.

It might be enough to say that what Americans want is for this country to actually try to live up to the Constitution and Bill of Rights it claims: The right to life, liberty, and not-happiness but at least the right to pursue happiness the way each of us chooses without harming others.

Corporations (in the guise of corporate personhood) are pursuing their happiness at our expense. Corporate rule must end.

Mainstream News: "Police are troublemakers"

Wisdom Quarterly
()

MSNBC is a corporate outlet. It purports to represent the "liberal" side as a ridiculous counterpart to Fox News' "conservative" extremes. It is part and parcel of the mainstream media.

This piece is important only because it is mainstream coverage of the protests. It is surprising that the powers that be allow MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnel to go this far in getting at the truth.

This may seem an insignificant report compared to all the video out there and all the injustice (most police crimes are not videotaped). But this is where reform starts.

The protests are filled with individuals who will no longer condone how corrupt our government, banks, military-industrial complex, and other corporate bodies have become. The Fed (The Federal Reserve Bank, Inc.), which is a private bank serving its own interests not the government's, is the lynchpin.

It is not the only corrupt body on Wall Street. The other private banks use it to rob the country blind with political help and blessings.

Many protesters have additional messages to be heard. There are many injustices, many causes, many routes to freedom. Most American only know that they are unhappy and in danger. Most of us want to create a better world, better society, better states.

In the beginning there was a mainstream media blackout on the Occupy Movement. Long before that the corruption of the Fed was avoided. The bailouts, the political maneuvering by Obama, Bush II, Clinton, Bush I is what we want to bring to light.

The Fed has handed out over $16 trillion ($2 trillion more than the national debt that took over two centuries to rack up) to private banks and corporations in the past four years. As suffering people not given a voice have increasingly "acted out," the military-industrial complex has funded a police state. We are spied on, and the constitutional protects and civil rights have been disregarded, rewritten, or simply violated.

  • A "trillion" is a thousand billion, a billion is thousand million.
  • A million seconds is about 12 days, but...
  • A trillion seconds is 32 thousand years.

But none of this was addressed by the mainstream media because that media is owned by the very corporations it fails to report on. The people did not elect the news staffs or editors, the oil ("energy") corporations or executives, the PR firms, nor were they approved of by the people.

These are red flags! Even "reputable" links prove what is being said. No special interpretation is necessary. Let us all make sure the current protests make these secrets known.

Bank (economic) crimes lead to unthinkable war (military) crimes. Because of poverty, brought on by corporate greed, members of society turn on themselves then turn on others in the greater world. We, the USA, are the empire to fear. Before long another empire will ascend. Just as we make others suffer, so we will suffer. Of course, only some of us are doing it. Therefore, it is the job of the rest of us to stop it. People (whistle blowers) defect from being part of the problem to contributing to the solution. Meanwhile, others (the media) deny there is any problem at all.

Occupy Los Angeles (Oct. 1, 2011)

Wisdom Quarterly, Kloncke.com, OccupyLA.org
Let's our country back from bankers and police state officials by occupying it from coast to coast, from Wall Street and downtown Los Angeles. We are the 99% being destroyed by 1%.

[Kloncke] began gathering some friends into a group we call Bay Area Radical Sangha (BARS). BARS is a space for meditators with "radical" politics. How is that defined? Structural critiques of our racist, hetero-patriarchal, war-reliant, capitalist system.
Instead, we support one another in contemplative practice and development. Having met and talked with many of you, I know for a fact that everyone has something wonderful to contribute.

If you are established in some sort of contemplative practice (it does not have to be Buddhist, although this is the foundation of the group) and would like to join in building a committed, holistic center of radical struggle, you are warmly welcomed and appreciated. The first BARS meets in the San Francisco Bay Area. New groups are forming in New York at Occupy Wall Street and Los Angeles at this weekend's launch.

All are welcome to stand up in a peaceful demonstration (occupyla.org)

Police State Brutality on Wall Street

Protesters: Stock Market plunges 391 points

Wisdom Quarterly
(RTAmerica) Crowds gathered in New York's financial district to protest Wall Street greed, corruption, and lack of accountability. RT's Anastasia Churkina dove into the rally to find out whether this could be the beginning of America's own Arab Spring.

"Occupy Wall Street" protests make an impact
RT calls it America's own "Arab Spring" -- when ordinary people rise up against unbearable oppression. The impact being made by "Occupy Wall Street" protesters is calling attention to un-prosecuted multinational banking crimes and high finance shenanigans.

The national debt, credit crisis, and high unemployment rates are all tied in to what goes on in the guarded halls and smoky rooms along Wall Street. More than any other institution -- military, social, or religious -- banking is the seat of power.

Motivated by greed, pulling political strings, calling the shots at the Pentagon, CIA, and the White House, it has been about the money since early temples began issuing notes for the treasures stored in their vaults.

The History of "Money"
How American Banking Works
If citizens knew that this was how banking worked, they would occupy Wall Street. It's a good thing they're kept numb in the dark, amused to death.

Only Debt and Payment Bondage are certain

Wisdom Quarterly

There is no petition. There is no need to call our Congress person. The fix is in. In a cynical ploy, B.S. Obama got what he wanted, what he was told to do, adopting a position to the right of Republicans.

It's cynical because most of us still believe our president is a liberal, someone interested in the welfare of the majority of Americans.

China owns most of our national debt, which ensures a .war of biblical proportions between the U.S. and the Red Army. (Revelation, which outlines the behavior of Judeo-Christian movers and shakers like a game plan, "a strategy worked out in advance," needs a standing army of a million soldiers, and only China qualifies).
  • Will it be financial "Armageddon," a war over water, or a war with the only force that could challenge the world's most violent imperial power, the US?
He is on office (and was selected to be in office by more business contributions than any other candidate in history) to protect the powers that be -- the rich, politically influential military-industrial complex.

That body is not a single unit but arms of a self-serving group of unelected decision makers and multinational oil executives and others. (Car companies are vested in oil and make profits not from their car sales but from the fuel that powers them, like phone companies that make money from calling plans not phone devices themselves).

Which others? The powers behind mainstream media outlets that spin and repeat stories about what is going on and what it means. Economy tanking? No, it's just that peak oil is valuable, and we need to pay a hidden tax by paying not only more for gas but an added fuel cost to everything, which also means losing our jobs and the social support programs that prevent breadlines and Wall Street suicides infamous during the Great Depression.

Cheney-Bush passed the Patriot Act to curtail our civil rights, and B.S. Obama pitched our enslavement to banking interests.

The Cost of US war on the World

Wisdom Quarterly (ANALYSIS)
(costsofwar.org)

Even if Pres. Obama came to office promising to pull out of Afghanistan, he changed his mind. Almost immediately, he sent in more invading and occupying troops. There was more than one major surges. He recently reluctantly said he would bring a fraction of them back.
But the fact is, there are more soldiers there now than there ever have been. This will be true even if he gets around to withdrawing some a year from now as he promised. How many soldiers in the field? There are a quarter US million soldiers in Afghanistan, it is said, but that must also include Iraq, CIA boots in Libya, and elsewhere. Why are there any in Afghanistan? No one knows. The Russians were greatly interested, so interested that it became their "Vietnam."

Robert Gates, Secretary of War, before presidential award and passing the job off to CIA head (csmonitor.com)

More shocking and less well known is the sad truth that even as poorly paid, PTSD-suffering "soldiers" are withdrawn, "private contractors" are sent in. There are more boots on the ground and more entering all the time.

The same happened -- thanks to Halliburton and Blackwater and Xe and other private-corporate armies -- in Iraq. Paid mercenaries do more and cost much more than regular military service personnel.
So even if all US soldiers were brought home, the secret, publicly-funded private-war would rage on. Pres. Obama is a hypocrite, and now he's a warmonger. Gates, the former head of the Pentagon (today being his last day) was not cooperating. But Leon Panetta, former CIA chief, should do as told, using his clandestine skills to promote corporate interests sitting in his new Pentagon office.

We argue and worry about gay marriage, gay soldiers, Washington sex scandals. Meanwhile, ultra-violence plays out all over the world sponsored by US taxpayers and secret sources of money (like the lucrative illegal drug trade):
  • Libya (an illegal war, but Obama doesn't mind that)
  • Yemen
  • Egypt
  • Pakistan (those drones have to prove they were worth it)
  • Iraq (the forgotten war)
  • secret conflicts (in China, space, Saudi Arabia, Africa, Bahrain, and who can forget the war on our homeland) plus the
  • United States' longest running war ever, Afghanistan.

"Barry O'Bama" dazzles Ireland (video)

With a forged birth certificate, anything's possible for Baraig Barry Soetoro O'Bama

DUBLIN, Ireland (CNN) - Thousands of jubilant Irishmen and women gave U.S. President Barack Obama a virtual hero's welcome Monday, embracing him as one of their own in a visit that included a campaign-style speech in downtown Dublin and a stop at the president's ancestral home.

Addressing an estimated crowd of 25,000 people at Dublin's famed College Green, Obama praised the "centuries-old relationship" between Ireland and America, and said he had traveled to Ireland "to reaffirm those bonds of affection."

The stop came on the first day of Obama's six-day, four-country European tour, which will also take the president to Britain, France and Poland. More (with VIDEO)

The Global Finance Connection
Wisdom Quarterly (COMMENTARY)

MONEYGALL, Ireland - Icelandic volcano eruption welcomes O'Bama to Europe again. There's a wee bit o' Irish in just about everyone now. The devas that hybridized humans on the Emerald Isle, with their strange red hair and freckled translucent skin not accustomed to our decreasingly filtered sunlight (thanks to environmental degradation and atmospheric deterioration), ventured far. The new gene sequences even made it into future World Leader Barry O'Bama and previous dictator Dick Cheney and others.

It's a long way for green to go, but we are all one human race. And that includes our extraterrestrial forebears. Yes, there are relations all over the galaxy, but even if revealed on a large scale, it will be too hard to believe.

Meanwhile, on a small scale: It's no accident who gets selected to rule. Karma plays a major role, and the powers that be know it. So bloodlines, horoscopes, speaking abilities, and grooming go a long way.

Unfortunately, so does the governing war mentality, the long history of naga (reptile-hybrid) influence, and the survival of world mythological traditions that hold the essence of the story in our awareness.

Why is O'Bama in Ireland...is there an economic connection? Ruling the world means ruling money, banking, and high finance. With the coming economic collapse, the fall of the dollar that precipitates a rearrangement of the [Brave New] World Order:
