"The Daily Show" wins 9th Emmy

The Daily Show wins [Ninth] consecutive Emmy!
Wisdom Quarterly (COMMENTARY)
Why is this news? The "news" presented to the American public is a joke -- a propaganda-laden PR campaign controlled by an impersonal process: Those corporate executives, executive editors, and in-the-know writers advance. There is governmental (regulation-wise) and extra-governmental (clandestine) help to those who promote a consensus reality that serves the military-industrial complex. Money is made (extracted from taxpayers and resources stolen from countries) through war, oil, and fear, installing "friendly" dictators and brutal regimes that are friendliest to the West. But when the joke is turned on the status quo and viewers are let in on what's really going on -- as with similar shows spawned by The Daily Show -- thanks to subversive comedy. It now comes regularly via the Colbert Report, a dwindling number of Saturday Night Live skits, Bill Maher, Dennis Miller, and others -- that's news. More Americans now get the news from shows pretending to be news as a joke. The others get our news from cynical joke shows pretending to be news, like FOX, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN (CIA), and largely subservient local stations (with precious few exceptions that show signs of independence to small markets).

Cemetery of Giants found in Central Africa

English.pravda.ru (June 24, 2011)
Other giant skeletal remains have been found but the evidence is soon buried and not considered a topic for "respectable" archeology, anthropology, or evolution since it suggests extraterrestrial visitation, miscegenation, and genetic manipulation.

A cemetery of giant creatures has been found in Africa. A team of anthropologists found a mysterious burial in the jungle near the city of Kigali Rwanda, central Africa.

The remains belong to gigantic creatures that bear little resemblance to humans. The head of research group believes that they could be visitors from another planet who died as a result of a catastrophe.

According to the scientists, they were buried at least 500 years ago. At first, researchers thought that they came across the remains of ancient settlements, but no signs of human life have been found nearby.

The 40 communal graves had approximately 200 bodies in them, all perfectly preserved. The creatures were tall -- approximately seven feet. Their heads were disproportionately large and they had no mouth, nose, or eyes.

The anthropologists believe that the creatures were members of an alien landing, possibly destroyed by some terrestrial virus to which they had no immunity. However, no traces of the landing of the spacecraft or its fragments were discovered. More

A Colbert-Style Report: Comedy with News

Wisdom Quarterly, Colbert Nation, The Buddhist Blog, Dr. Robert Jacobs
Stephen Colbert on "blogger and journal-ish" Breitbart on Weiner on crotch-shots on Comedy Central (Huffington Post)

Living in a topsy-turvy world is easy -- as long as our sense of humor remains intact. That's not always easy. To keep smiling, to start laughing, is a blessing.

It takes not only an open mind but a throbbing heart. The heart opens, the mind opens. The marriage of compassion and wisdom is no mismatched pairing.

There are are growing number of intelligent comedians thriving in the the Bush-catastrophe era we are still living in with Barack O'Bush, who has done so much to keep and promote not only the policies of the Cheney-Bush administration but also its key players.

Why argue about revolution when things are worse than ever with a much nicer face on it? How I wished we could have a black president. I never bargained for a (shsssssh) sad "sell out."

The Colbert Report, Family Guy, American Dad, The Onion, The Daily Show, SNL (Seth Meyers), YouTube, The Young Turks, Bill Maher, Go Harrison-Jimmy Dore-David Feldman (KPFK radio progressive news comedians), Amy Sedaris, David Sedaris, This American Life... there are many options, many opportunities to laugh.

Buddhism has many comedians: Ajahn Brahm, Nes Wisker, Roshi Albrizze, Ashley Wells, and even the British Western-Thai-Theravada-tradition monk Ajahn Sumedho, who wrote a book titled Who We Really Are, which explains:

"Now one of the big problems in meditation is that we can take ourselves too seriously.

"We can see ourselves as religious people dedicated towards serious things, such as realizing truth.

"We feel important; we are not just frivolous or ordinary people, going about our lives, just going shopping in the supermarket and watching television.

"Of course this seriousness has advantages; it might encourage us to give up foolish activities for more serious ones.

"But the process can lead to arrogance and conceit: a sense of being someone who has special moral precepts or some altruistic goal, or of being exceptional in some way, having come onto the planet as some kind of messiah.

It's a kind of pride that can make human beings lose all perspective; so we need humor to point to the absurdity of our self-obsession."

James: I laugh a lot when I meditate, especially when that sneaky ego creeps in with the "spiritual materialism" of smugness, arrogance, and pride of feeling like I'm something special because I'm meditating, because I'm a "Buddhist," or because I'm feeling like I "get it." It is as if there is something to "get" (shaking head and chuckling). It's more like there is something to lose [to abandon, to let go of]. Namely, the very ego that wants to acquire. More

17 New Pyramids found in Egypt (video)

The mysterious pyramids of Egypt are much older than reported. And it seems clear they were not planned and implemented by and for human motives (sbwestfordk12.us).
An infrared satellite survey of Egypt has revealed 17 lost pyramids and thousands of ancient tombs and other structures (Image: Courtesy of the Univ. of Alabama at Birmingham)

Seventeen lost pyramids and thousands of ancient tombs and other structures have been revealed in an infrared satellite survey of Egypt.

University of Alabama at Birmingham Egyptologist Sarah Parcak and colleagues used NASA and commercial satellites orbiting 430 miles above Egypt to show mud-brick structures under the surface. The stunning findings include more than 1,000 tombs and 3,100 settlements.

"This hints at the possibilities of discoveries to come," Parcak was quoted as saying by her university. "I am excited for my generation and the generations to come. There is enough to be excavated for 50 generations to come."

Preliminary excavations by a French team have confirmed the presence of at least two possible pyramids. The findings at Saqqara (Sakkara) could be one of the most important sites in Egypt.

The work will be profiled in the BBC documentary "Egypt's Lost Cities," airing Monday on the BBC. The documentary will also be broadcast on the Discovery Channel in the U.S. More

Google maps is tracking all US nuclear facilities and their danger zones in case of an "impossible" malfunction like Japan. So possible is this impossibility that they have never been able to get insurance for the plants, many owned by G.E. Big business, which profits immensely not by turning a profit in selling this utility but by getting massive taxpayer subsidies, cannot find an insurance company willing to take the bet.

WikiLeaks dropped a bombshell this weekend: Guantanamo is lie; it's not full of the "worst of the worst" the way the government and military-industrial complex claimed for years as it tortured them and incited Islamists and Jihadists to fight back against our worldwide imperial aggression in foreign lands. It's full of children, elderly, and utterly harmless innocents in addition to other alleged criminals.

How did we get them? They were turned over for such crimes as having been in "Al Queda" custody (so we could learn about their interrogation methods), possessing Casio watches on their wrists (a known device that can be used for bomb making), being elderly or senile, and -- most popular of all -- simply being accused by anyone in Afghanistan, Pakistan, or any other -istan the US military is busy invading and provoking to fight back to justify our invasions and clampdowns.

Did you know your iPhone and iPad were spying on you? Of course you did! But did you know you could opt out of being tracked? Oops. Apple forgot to tell anyone. Any smartphone is already transponding your location and the identities of your associates every time you pass a tower (even when your phone is off). It's reporting on you every 30 seconds.
