New $35 tablet computer released in India

Empowering the disempowered with affordable technology in India (ctv.ca)

India launches $35 tablet computer aimed at world's poor
NEW DELHI (USA Today) - India introduced a cheap tablet computer today, saying it would deliver modern technology to the countryside to help lift villagers out of poverty.

The computer, called [the] Aakash, or "sky" [actually "space," which includes all the visible sky] in Hindi [akasha in Sanskrit], is the latest in a series of "world's cheapest" innovations in India that include [the world's cheapest computer with alternative power,] $2,040 compact Nano car, a $15 water purifier, and $2,000 open-heart surgery.

Developer Datawind is selling the tablets to the government for about $45 each, and subsidies will reduce that to $35 for students and teachers. In comparison, the cheapest Apple iPad tablet costs $499, while the recently announced Kindle Fire will sell for $199.

Datawind says it can make about 100,000 units a month at the moment, not nearly enough to meet India's hope of getting its 220 million children online.

Human Resources Development Minister Kapil Sibal called the announcement a message to all children of the world. "This is not just for us. This is for all of you who are disempowered," he said. "This is for all those who live on the fringes of society." More

Apple's newest release: The "iQuit"

Wisdom Quarterly (ANALYSIS)

The Steve Jobs and Apple Story (Telegraph.co.uk). "During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act" - George Orwell author of 1984.

Jobs quits. (Steve Jobs is the face and founder of Apple Computers). That was his latest bombshell announcement for Apple, a company with more discretionary cash than the United States and almost as much as oil industry giants. Some reports say more than them, too. Apple stock was down 5% on the news -- and this creates a great opportunity.

With new iPhones everyone must have, apps, new modes of computing, and above new ways of looking cool in a down economy, Apple is set to rise. The stock is expensive, but when it corrects, it will be an easy profit of at least 5 percent. Technology, style, iTunes, eBooks, and Apple are not going anywhere but up. Jobs' replacement has already been at the job since January.

And Jobs is not leaving completely but will still be hanging on advising and trying to spend his hundreds of millions to get his health back, what with a recent liver replacement and pancreatic cancer and helping the CIA/NSC/TSA defeat the concept or possibility of "privacy" in the Orwellian world of today. Remember, new investors, "Buy low, sell high." That's all one needs to know to capitalize on stock trades. Lows only come on bad news or when things are new. And one never really knows when the high has been reached (until after the fact with 20/20 hindsight).

Macs hit by Malware, iPhones could be next

Unless Apple, Inc. acts fast, Macs are no immune from malware, and iPhones could be hit next. It has taken steps to stop a malware "phishing" program (Image: cutcaster.com).

(NPR, June 6) Apple's computers have been able to avoid most serious hacking attacks, but that era may be over. As Steve Jobs and his colleagues prepared for this week's developers conference, the company was also taking steps to stop a malware "phishing" program.

The ploy, says technology columnist Rich Jaroslovsky of Bloomberg News, uses an infected website to install a piece of software on Apple computers. The software then pops up a new window, with an urgent message about a security vulnerability.

As Jaroslovsky tells NPR's Renee Montagne, the rogue window includes "a scary-sounding message that tells you that your computer is infected, and that you need software to eradicate the infection — and to please give your credit card number." More

Google maps is tracking all US nuclear facilities and their danger zones in case of an "impossible" malfunction like Japan. So possible is this impossibility that they have never been able to get insurance for the plants, many owned by G.E. Big business, which profits immensely not by turning a profit in selling this utility but by getting massive taxpayer subsidies, cannot find an insurance company willing to take the bet.

WikiLeaks dropped a bombshell this weekend: Guantanamo is lie; it's not full of the "worst of the worst" the way the government and military-industrial complex claimed for years as it tortured them and incited Islamists and Jihadists to fight back against our worldwide imperial aggression in foreign lands. It's full of children, elderly, and utterly harmless innocents in addition to other alleged criminals.

How did we get them? They were turned over for such crimes as having been in "Al Queda" custody (so we could learn about their interrogation methods), possessing Casio watches on their wrists (a known device that can be used for bomb making), being elderly or senile, and -- most popular of all -- simply being accused by anyone in Afghanistan, Pakistan, or any other -istan the US military is busy invading and provoking to fight back to justify our invasions and clampdowns.

Did you know your iPhone and iPad were spying on you? Of course you did! But did you know you could opt out of being tracked? Oops. Apple forgot to tell anyone. Any smartphone is already transponding your location and the identities of your associates every time you pass a tower (even when your phone is off). It's reporting on you every 30 seconds.

iPhone, SpyPhone

Wisdom Quarterly

The new SpyPhone (iPhone 4) has been caught red handed. It has been spying on its purchasers and users.

Not only does it put off more radiation than most smartphones -- worsening TMJ stress and female hormonal disruptions (according to Dr. Pana, a holistic dentist in practice in Santa Monica) but also weakening one's aura (bioelectromagnetic energy field) and increasing the likelihood of a correlated (because the industry will bury any study that alleges causation) cancer diagnosis -- now its homeland spying features on users has been discovered.

Cell phones have been triangulating the location of those in possession of phones for some time now. The only shocking news is the discovery of this embedded program in the phone and the easy of being tracked by anyone compromising our phones and computers, like TSA at the airport, Homeland Security, or any other agent who takes said phone to another room for a second.

Danek S. Kaus (TechFlash.com, April 21, 2011)
Your iPhone tracks your location and stores it in a hidden file, whether you like it or not. So does your iPad 3G. That's the recent revelation of British researchers Alasadair Allan and Pete Warden. The devices have been recording latitude and longitude as well as time of day since the introduction of iOS4. It has been speculated that the devices capture the locations through cell-tower triangulation for years, long before the fourth generation. To make matters worse, the information is not encrypted, which means it is available on any computer that you synchronize your phone to. Anyone who has access to those computers or your phone could learn where you've been and when you were there. Because the information is not protected it is also subject to hacking. More
