Refuge from Electromagnetic Pollution (EHS)

Wisdom Quarterly

Going for refuge never sounded so good! Buddhists do not actually go for "refuge" -- even though that is how the word sarana is commonly translated. They go for guidance on the path to enlightenment.

Where can anyone go to avoid being bombarded with cell phone tower emissions, HAARP array pulses, and synthetic electromagnetic energy in general? In the rolling hills of West Virginia, where one can also find the Bhavana Society, there is a refuge.

Some Americans believe continuous electromagnetic radiation is making them physically ill. [Everyone agrees that it is making us ill in other ways.]

As many as five percent of Americans believe they suffer from Electromagnetic Hyper-Sensitivity (EHS). They say exposure to such devices like cell phones, wi-fi, and other electronic equipment is causing severe headaches, skin burning, muscle twitching, and chronic pain.

Diane Schou says she suffers from EHS: "My face turns red, I get a headache, my vision changes, and it hurts to THINK. Last time [I was exposed] I started getting chest pains -- and to me that's becoming life-threatening."

When Diane lived in Iowa, she believed her illness was triggered by emissions from a cell-phone mast [military-owned microwave tower]. She was even forced to live in a specially-adapted cage where electromagnetic radiation could not penetrate.

Her symptoms were so severe she was compelled to move to Green Bank, West Virginia -- a so-called "US Radio Quiet Zone" -- where wireless is prohibited across 13,000 sq miles (33,000 sq km) to prevent transmissions interfering with a number of radio telescopes in the area which listens for extra-terrestrial signals from different places in the universe, reports the BBC.

Some of the telescopes at Green Bank also serve the government's critical spy network, as reported on the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) website. More

What in the world? "Police State 4" (video)

Infowars.com, Wisdom Quarterly
()

Police State 4 chronicles the depths to which our republic has fallen. Veteran documentary filmmaker (and libertarian muckraker) Alex Jones reveals the existence of a secret network of FEMA camps being expanded nationwide.

The military-industrial complex is transforming our once free nation into a giant prison camp. A cashless society control grid, built in the name of "fighting terrorism," is actually being constructed to enslave Americans.

Body scanners, sound cannons, electro-magnetic pulse weapons, citizen spies, staged terror, mind control plants (Manchurian candidates), and cameras on every corner and laptop - it is only the beginning of the New World Order's unbelievable plan.

The "Continuity of Government" program has established an all-powerful shadow state, revealing preparations to enter the secretive world of emergency dictatorship, FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Administration) betrayal, and a shredded constitution.

Witness police and military savagely attacking innocent citizens as our own elected government unleashes false flag operations to justify its oppression. The shadow government is ruthless behind the scenes. Jones takes on corrupt mercenary police and exposes mainstream media brainwashing because those who are part of the problem are also victims of it.

Is My Mind My Friend?

Wisdom Quarterly

"What we think, we become," said the Buddha? Or was it, "We are what we think (as the result of mental karma)? The quote is actually, "Mind is the forerunner of all conditions. If we speak or act with a pure or impure mind/heart, happiness or woe follows us wherever we go" (Dhammapada, Verse 1).

Mind—Friend or Foe?

Our thoughts are the building blocks of the lives we desire. My Mind Is Not Always My Friend is a blueprint that shows how we can examine our thinking and change it. Steven J. Fogel shows us how to:

  • confront outside challenges (and inner demons) by changing the way the inner mind views them and reacts to them
  • get out of our own way so we can live every day to the fullest in the present moment

  • become fearless so we can always be at our best
  • identify and manage behavior that until now has been disruptive to the life we want
  • behave in ways that are in harmony with our goals
  • recognize when the voice in our head is likely to lead us into self-destructive behavior
  • develop self-awareness to recognize our set ways of being and to overcome and let them go. More

"Mind-reading" experiment highlights brain

"Mind-reading" experiment highlights how brain records emories
(ScienceDaily) It may be possible to "read" a person's memories just by looking at brain activity, according to research carried out by Wellcome Trust scientists.

In a study published in the journal Current Biology they show that our memories are recorded in regular patterns, a finding that challenges current scientific thinking.

Demis Hassabis and Professor Eleanor Maguire at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging at UCL (University College London) have previously studied the role of a small area of the brain known as the hippocampus, which is crucial for navigation, memory recall, and imagining future events.

Now the researchers have shown how the hippocampus records memory.

When we move around, nerve cells (neurons) known as "place cells" located in the hippocampus, activate to tell us where we are.

Hassabis, Maguire, and colleagues used a functional MRI (fMRI) scanner, which measures changes in blood flow within the brain, to examine the activity of these places cells as a volunteer navigated around a virtual reality environment. The data were then analyzed by a computer algorithm developed by Demis Hassabis.

"We asked whether we could see any interesting patterns in the neural activity that could tell us what the participants were thinking, or in this case where they were," explains Professor Maguire, a Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellow.

"Surprisingly, just by looking at the brain data we could predict exactly where they were in the virtual reality environment. In other words, we could 'read' their spatial memories." More

Psychologists have found that thought patterns used to recall the past and imagine the future are strikingly similar. Using functional magnetic...
