UFO shot out of the sky crash lands (video)

Wisdom Quarterly

() Americans believe in UFOs. And the Paranormal Footage Blog attests that this is the most amazing UFO crash footage ever captured. Judging by the audio attached to it, it seems as if it were videotaped by the US military. Gone are the days of grainy, out of focus saucer footage. This is crystal clear, metamorphosing, and hitting the ground. It is well known that the NWO shadow government with the aid of some extraterrestrials has been shooting down other extraterrestrial craft for decades. It may be a hoax, or it may be audio visual evidence of this phenomenon documented for internal purposes.

The evidence stays obscure by simply mentioning the word "hoax."

"Cyclops of the Sea" caught in Gulf of California

Few reports of mythical beasts (cryptozoological specimens) come with proof. But a sea creature caught by one fisherman is an exception. As extraterrestrials continue to genetically manipulate lifeforms on Earth, it is no surprise specimens like a cat with two faces or a baby with eight limbs are showing up. DNA is so receptive that a laser shot through one specimen onto another (with no physical contact between them whatsoever) is enough to transfer the information and produce a hybrid creature. Therefore, any creature with DNA is susceptible to bombardment with microwaves, EMF emissions, laser streams...and to manipulation.

History Hidden in "Myth and Fairy Tales" (video)

() Part 1: Dawn of the Devas (Gods)

"Thousands of years ago the gods [devas] came down to Earth from the stars to initiate a genesis. Human civilization was formed and reached a peak [one of many] with Atlantis. A Dark Age began, and the battle of Atlantean gods led to its fall. A secret brotherhood brought Atlantean secret teachings before the fall to Egypt. Through all civilizations and with inspiration from extraterrestrial guards, the secret Atlantean brotherhood managed all political systems with an educational mission. This thrilling documentary shows for the first time the secret activities of a brotherhood in relation with invisible masters from Shambhala and Agharta [the opening to our hollow planet] and the secret about the hollow Earth."

A Buddhist Genesis
(Aggañña Sutra, DN 27, sacred-texts.com)
O, Vâsetthâ, there is a season, at vast intervals in the lapse of time, when this world is dissolved. And upon the world's dissolution, the inhabitants are mostly brought together in the space world of the radiant. And there they dwell for a long, long time, mind-made, feed[ing] on joy, self-resplendent, traversing the sky [space], and abiding in goodness.

Again, there is a season, at vast intervals in the lapse of time, when this world is re-evolved. And upon the world's [re]evolution, people disappear from the host [company] of the radiant and come down hither [to this planet]. And they are mind-made, feeders on joy, self-resplendent, traversing the sky, and abiding in goodness. [And so] do they dwell for a long, long period.

Now at that season there is gloom and darkness universally: moon and sun are known not; stars and constellations are not known; nor night and day, nor month and fortnight, nor seasons of the year. Women and men are known not, but people say: "Sentient beings only are considered." More

TRANSLATOR'S NOTE: Since my translation of the Buddhist Genesis document appeared in the January Monist, I have found that Rockhill rendered it from the Tibetan in 1884. (Life of the Buddha and Early History of His Order. Translated from the Tibetan. By W. Woodville Rockhill. London, Trübner's Oriental Series, 1884). I had known this book for years, but it escaped me when making the Genesis translation and also in my Buddhist Bibliography (London, 1903). In Rockhill's volume the Genesis document comes at the very beginning. Like the Sanskritized Prâkrit version used by me, it belongs to the Vinaya Pitaka. The Tibetan Canon is that of the sect of Realists (Sarvastivada), whose account of the compilation of the Scriptures was translated by Suzuki, also in the January Monist. There are two versions of the Genesis document in the Tibetan Vinaya Pitaka: A short one in the Vinaya-vastu (corresponding in part to the Pâli Mahâvaggo), and a long one (translated by Rockhill) in the Vinaya-Vibhâga (Pâli Bhikkhu-Vibhanga). The Theravâda sect, who have handed down the Pâli Tripitaka, do not place this document in the Vinaya, but in the Sûtra Pitaka. Thus do we prove the truth of the Island Chronicle of Ceylon, which says that the Realists, the Great Council, and many other sects, made recensions of the Canon to suit themselves. We must never forget that the Pâli, though the oldest version of the Canon known, is by no means the only one. The Mahâsamghika (Great Council) school also claims to be the oldest, and their Book of Discipline has come down to us in a fifth-century Chinese translation. Suzuki also gave us extracts from this, and we saw therefrom that they had no Abhidharma. This looks as if their Canon belonged to an earlier period than the Pâli, for the Abhidharma was in the nature of commentary, and was compiled after the Buddhists had split up into sects. We know that one ancient sect, the Sautrântikas (i.e., Sûtra-men) refused to admit the canonicity of the Abhidharma and were content with the Sûtra-Pitaka. Moreover, the Great Council sect not only tabooed the Abhidharma, but they also had a very short recension of the Fifth Nikâya. This collection, known as the Khuddaka (Short) in Pâli, was called the Miscellaneous Pitaka by other sects, and consisted largely of commentaries. The Great Council refused to canonize these commentaries, but admitted into it only the Udâna, the Itivuttka, and the Nidâna. It is high time that Japanese scholars translated the books of this early rival sect, which may yet be proved to be older than the Pâli.

Why no Moon return? ("Apollo 18" trailer)

(APOLLO 18) Officially, Apollo 17 -- which the US launched on December 17, 1972 -- was the last manned mission to the Moon. But a year later, in December of 1973, two American astronauts were sent on a secret mission to the Moon funded by the US Department of War (Defense). This movie claims to contain actual footage the astronauts captured on that mission. While NASA denies its authenticity, others say it is the real reason we have never gone back to the Moon.

The UFOs are Landing (video)

VIDEO: Unsolved Mysteries: The Cash Landrum UFO Case (Disclose.TV)

The Cash-Landrum incident was a reported unidentified flying object sighting from the US in 1980. The eyewitnesses insist it was responsible for damaging their health in a way reminiscent of biblical passages stating that one could not look directly at "God" or be smited. It is one of very few UFO cases to result in criminal court proceedings. It is classified as a close encounter of the second kind, due to its reported physical effects on the witnesses and their automobile without interaction with the occupants of the craft.

Can't Look at "the Gods" and Live

Allaboutgod.com

Humans are not allowed to look directly at God and live (Exodus 33:20). When Moses, an Old Testament figured beloved by Jews, encountered God as a blazing bush that did not burn up, he feared looking (Exodus 3:6).

Moses had an intimate relationship with his extraterrestrial god (akasha deva) but with limitations (Deuteronomy 34:10). In seeking God’s dazzling presence, Moses is reminded, “you may not look directly at my face, for no one may see me and live” (Exodus 33:11, 20-23).

Old Testament examples of God’s appearance centered on his glory (which means light, resplendence, halo, shining; deva literally means "shining one"). That light, thought of as the deva's celestial/extraterrestrial/heavenly presence, can dwelling in glowing objects: the Tabernacle (Numbers 12:5; 16:19, 42), pillar of fire and pillar [platform, chariot of fire, vimana, spacecraft] of cloud (Numbers 14:14).

In Buddhist and Indian lore, a Brahma ["the supreme," who is neither singular nor supreme] has no form to appear in, so it adopts one according to the situation and thereby interacts, often in the appearance of a beloved youth named Pañcasikha (DN 19). This would explain the Christian conviction that its omnipotent and omniscient creator god came as a child: "Christ is the visible image of the invisible God." More

Is Katy Perry (Catty Purry) an ET?

Wisdom Quarterly

See lyrics to "ET" (featuring Kanye West) below.

Are we the only ones to notice what Hollywood namers named Catty Purry? It seems so. But there have been rumors -- we thought them a joke -- that Perry is in fact a human-extraterrestrial hybrid. Feline, reptilian (naga), shapeshifter?

To the extent that some people refuse to acknowledge other life forms throughout the universe and even this very solar system, this will sound incredible. But humans are seeded from the stars. There are many, many alien races. Many have visited, many still do, and many never left.

With sufficient DNA (often referred to as a suitable bloodline) these intelligences are able to take possession of an individual. What better way than through million-selling musicians and overnight popstars?

Lady Gaga, addled by drug abuse and body issues that inspire her to drink, starve, binge, and do hot yoga, might well be in the same boat. There are unseen beings all around. Why would an artist create a hit song glorifying ET-hybridization, miscegenation, human-alien mating?

It is like the "days of old" when the Nephilim (the Judeo-Christian "sons of god" or Buddhist devaputras) created "men of renown" (epic heroes) by mating with the "wives of men" (human females).

LYRICS: Katy Perry's "ET" (feat. Kanye West)

With nine nominations at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) tonight, Katy Perry is set for another milestone in her meteoric rise to fame and a short career that promises to grow longer with each hit. Perry has just become the first female and only the second person (the first being Michael Jackson) to ever derive five number one hits from a single album. Amy Winehouse sleeps, and Lady Gaga shivers in her homemade platforms as Justin Bieber wets his Canadian Toughskins when they see Perry rising on the charts.

Death from Above Comes from Below (HAARP)

Wisdom Quarterly (COSMOLOGY)

(Tru TV) Gov. Jesse Ventura's "Conspiracy Theory" show investigates HAARP (high-frequency active auroral research program) for war, weather manipulation, earthquakes, tsunamis, and "mind control." See full-length episode below.

The Judeo-Christian "God" (who sounds like a Zoroastrian asura, or titan, more than a benevolent creator of the cosmos) may not be to blame for earthquakes. But it seems some extraterrestrial titans (called "demons" in later Buddhist cosmology because of their ongoing war against devas from their new home base Earth) might well have provided the advanced technology to humans.

Such technology -- first channeled to Nikola Tesla, as he himself reported, from an extraterrestrial residing on Mars. (He himself is accused of being an ET from Venus, perhaps to mock his claim that he was literally receiving messages from Mars).

In any case, he was a great genius. And all of his work was preserved and has been developed and used in secret, while Alexander Graham Bell and others get all the credit. This technology includes "free energy" machines used by the shadow US government as well as the world government (as led by Germany and Britain), but that is another story altogether. HAARP is an array of antennae several nations possess and use to manipulate weather and wage war in secret, calling its effects "natural disasters." A synonymous phrase for a "natural disaster" is an "act of God."

"God" (Brahma, Ahura Mazda, Allah, YHWH, El, and the many "gods" of the so-called monotheistic Judeo-Christian Bible, Old and New Testaments) here never really means The GOD (Brahman, the ineffable, the reality behind the illusion, the famous "I am that I am").

It refers more to a Greek demigods/Roman pantheon/Indian devas understanding of advanced extraterrestrials who visit, mate with, experiment on, evolve (genetically manipulate), educate, and rule through divine rite of hybrid humans. These "gods" (akasha devas, nagas, and asuras) and their messenger "angels" (gandharvas) might indeed "punish" and preserve, help and harm humanity.

One would not think that Buddhism or older Vedic Brahmanism (now surviving under the general name "Hinduism") supports Zoroastrian, Egyptian, Sumerian, and Judeo-Christian mythologies -- but it does. Fortunately, it gives much fuller and sensible explanations for what many other traditions have wrought into fragments and nonsense filler.

Why is Wisdom Quarterly Blue?

Wisdom Quarterly: American Buddhist Journal is blue in token of one of the many species in space, as described by the visionary author of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series Douglas Adams. Humans are but one life form on Earth, once thought nearly inconsequential. They are revealed to be part of a greater plan as part of the intricate matrix of a large computing device incorporating organic life. Of course, the strange ape-like creatures roaming the computer's surface have no idea. But out in the vastness of space, there are even stranger expressions of life, such as the Hooloovoo:

  • Hooloovoo are a hyperintelligent shade of the color blue. Little is known of them, except that one participated in the construction of the starship Heart of Gold. At the launching ceremony one was temporarily refracted into a free-standing prism. This is probably analogous to the ceremonial multicolored lab coats worn by the rest of the team.
Profiling ExoPlanets: Zeroing in on an alien planet Earth

2400548669_336e54db73
  • Humans are bipedal creatures from Earth, and the third most intelligent species on that planet, surpassed only by mice and dolphins. Originally thought to have evolved from proto-apes, humans may in fact be descendants of Golgafrinchan telephone sanitizers, account executives, and marketing analysts who were tricked out of leaving their home planet to arrive on the planet circa 2,000,000 BC. These Golgafrinchans apparently displaced the indigenous cavemen as the organic components in the computer designed by Deep Thought. Interestingly, although the term "humanoid" is applied to many races throughout the galaxy, "humanity" refers specifically to the qualities of humans.
  • Haggunenons of Vicissitus Three were encountered in the fit the sixth of the radio series when Ford and Zaphod attempted to steal an Admiral's flagship from the Restaurant at the End of the Universe. According to the Guide, the Haggunenons "have the most impatient chromosomes in the Galaxy. Whereas most species are content to evolve slowly and carefully over thousands of generations, discarding a prehensile toe here, [...] hazarding another nostril there, the Haggunenons would have done for Charles Darwin what a squadron of Arcturan Stunt Apples would have done for Sir Isaac Newton. Their genetic structure is based on the quadruple sterated octohelix...." Their tendency to evolve almost instantaneously has the downside of discarding one deficiency for another. For example, when they reach for sugar for their coffee, they may evolve "into something with much longer arms, but which is probably perfectly incapable of drinking the coffee." They resent stable species, and wage war on them in their horribly beweaponed chameleoid black battle cruisers. The Haggunenon Admiral turned out to have been sleeping on his flagship in the form of a chair while Ford, Arthur, Zaphod, Trillian and Marvin returned it to its proper time and place at the vanguard of an invasion fleet. It then evolved into a copy of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal, from which Ford and Arthur were able to escape, but which ate Marvin, Trillian and Zaphod. Those three later made their escape when the admiral evolved into an escape capsule. This monster also appears in the "Dungeons and Dragons Epic Level Handbook" as the Hagunemnon. Like their Hitch-hiker's counterparts, they too are unstable shapeshifters with a deep loathing for non-shapeshifting lifeforms. See also: Haggunenon Underfleet Commander

  • Hingefreel are a race with only a very small mention, at the start of Chapter 1 of the novel Mostly Harmless. Hailing from Arkintoofle Minor, they built spaceships powered by bad news, which is the only thing that travels faster than light. Their ships were very fast, but didn't work particularly well, and were extremely unwelcome wherever they arrived.
  • Hrarf-Hrarf are a race of beings whose lifespans flow backwards in linear time. Their lives begin at death, and end "in a really quite extraordinarily pleasant birth." They are also described as the "only race known actually to enjoy hangovers, because they know it guarantees that a tremendously good evening will ensue." The race is mentioned only in the radio series The Secondary Phase, written specially for that series by Douglas Adams in the mid-1990s. More

Public Opinion Polls on UFO beliefs

The public already believes (UFOevidence.org)
Public opinion is as important as the reality because, more than reality, it leads to action (theragblog).

Public Opinion Polls on UFOs
Numerous public opinion polls from the last 50 years from different countries report very consistent and similar findings: 50% of the population believes in the reality of UFOs; 5% has seen a UFO.

Canadian UFO Poll: 3 million Canadians have seen UFOs

A national survey by an independent research consortium has found that 9.6% of all Canadians believe they have seen UFOs. "This translates into nearly 3 million people who say they are UFO witnesses," notes Chris Rutkowski, project coordinator.

Condon Report: Public Attitudes Toward UFO Phenomena
Aldora Lee, The Condon Report, Sec. 3, Chp. 7
Reported in this chapter are the findings of four opinion surveys conducted during the spring of 1968. The major surveys were of 2050 adults and 451 teenagers, representing a cross-section of the U.S. population. The other two surveys concerned college students and UFO sighters. In this report, opinions regarding the proportion of sighters in the United States, opinions regarding the reporting of UFOs, and attitudes toward UFOs and related phenomena are considered.

Poll Reveals UFO Belief
Sci Fi Wire (Sci Fi Channel, Oct. 17, 2002)
A new national poll found that 72 percent of Americans believe the government is not telling the public everything it knows about UFO activity, and 68 percent think the government knows more about extraterrestrial life than it is letting on, the SCI FI Channel reported.

In ancient times an ancient tablet reveals that everyone not only believed but lived the reality of extraterrestrial visitors.

Poll: U.S. hiding knowledge of aliens
(CNN, June 15, 1997) Nearly 50 years since an alleged UFO was sighted at Roswell, New Mexico, a CNN/Time poll shows that 80 percent of Americans think the government is hiding knowledge of the existence of extraterrestrial life forms.

Public Opinion Surveys and Unidentified Flying Objects: 50+ years of Sampling Public Opinions (PDF)

John F. Schuessler, International Director, MUFON (Mutual UFO Network)
Public opinion surveys fill an important need in business, politics, and advertising. For more than 50 years surveys of public opinions about Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO) have been conducted to satisfy a variety of customers. While the numbers h ave fluctuated from time to time, the general results of these surveys showed the public to be very aware of UFO sightings, interested in what may be causing them, and concerned that the government was not doing enough to resolve the mystery. The purpose of this paper is to summarize a large number of surveys of public opinions about UFOs, starting in 1947 and continuing to the present.

Roper Poll Survey 1999 - Press Release

NIDS (National Institute for Discovery Science)
A nationwide survey by the Roper Organization has uncovered the following: when asked what they thought UFOs were, 25% thought they were alien spaceships, 12% thought they were secret government programs, 9% said hallucinations, 19% said UFOs are normal events that are misinterpreted by witnesses, and 7% said travelers from other dimensions.

In studying the UFO phenomenon I am always stuck by the results of the most recent surveys. Recall the argument that there would be wide spread panic if the government announced that there was an extraterrestrial presence visiting earth. Well every polling result in the last 10 years simply doesn’t support that argument.

The Attitudes of Canadians Toward the Existence of Extra-Terrestrial Life and UFOs

VIDEO: Faking the NASA Moon Landing

Top Secret NASA footage of the making of fake Moon landing
WARNING: Gratuitous use of profanity by astronaut-actors angry at faking it.

First of all, the USSR has been to the Moon and the USA has too. By now China, India, the Europeans collectively have all at least circled and photographed it. Why then was the footage the world was show faked?

The faking was done on a Hollywood-style soundstage. This has long been known: There were many small mistakes as NASA rushed to prove we had conquered the lunar surface -- a flag fluttering in the wind of an atmosphere-free sphere, lack of propulsion jets, no indentation in the moondust where jet exhaust would have brought the vehicle to a soft landing, and so on.

The reason for the fake is much more shocking than the fact that there was a fake, as this leaked video seems to establish. Although this footage was shot and shown to the world, we did make it to the Moon.

(MUFON)

What we found were dilapidated structures, advanced mining efforts, extraterrestrials in massive craft, water, glass pyramids, and a you're-not-welcome mat that sent us off the unnatural satellite and kept us off ever since.

Perhaps there has been a green light since because we have bombed (crashed objects on) its surface, imaged the dark or far side, and fathomed its hollow nature. Of course, unfortunately, we are bent on militarizing it much as Hitler intended to do.

All of this might be dismissed out of hand if it were not for the persistent efforts of Richard C. Hoagland (enterprisemission.com), Dr. Stephen Greer (disclosureproject.org), and a growing parade of defecting military and government personnel at the National Press Club. Obama and Clinton know, having been briefed by Dr. Greer, but it is not within their power to do anything about it in terms of disclosure.

Ignoring the UFO Disclosure Project (video)

Segment of 2010 Disclosure Project, Canadian minister at the National Press Club

Disturbing Phenomena: Ignoring the UFO Disclosure Project

xomba.com
WASHINGTON D.C. (2010) - At the National Press Club, a group of retired military personnel gave compelling testimony about their experiences dealing directly with UFOs at the bases (mostly nuclear) they worked on.

The group also talked about the subsequent burying, non-reporting, or flat-out directive to ignore any evidence regarding these encounters by their military bosses at the U.S. Navy and Air Force.

Furthermore, they all maintained that the U.S. government’s deliberate cover-up and public denial of the truth has been going on consistently for the last 40 years.

The testimony of these men was extraordinary not just because of the otherworldly content, but in light of their very obvious military credibility. Being a whistleblower isn’t easy. But even civilians know it’s considered close to treason in “military” circles.

Coming forward publicly is not only incredibly brave, it is clearly motivated by the same patriotism that had them join the military in the first place.

For these veterans and hundreds of other military members who have come forward on official record to the UFO Disclosure Project, revealing what they know is an urgent matter now, one of national security and First Amendment rights. As the years ticked by these men watched silently as the world governments -- not just America's -- continued to conceal information from the public.

There is money (trillions of dollars in military contracts), power (status quo around the globe), and control (major religious implications) at stake here.

It’s not hard at all to venture a guess as to why governments would conceal such paradigm-shifting information. It could change the course of human history. More

2006 Disclosure Project, National Press Club

A large number of ex-high ranking officials including air traffic controllers, secret operations officers, commercial pilots, numerous military defense specialists with top secret clearance, people who had access to very sensitive documents, lieutenants, commanders in the US Air Force, astronauts, and so on went before the National Press Club to discuss what their experiences have been regarding UFOs. All are willing to go before Congress to testify under oath. Never before has such a group come forward. (centralelements.com, facebook.com/centralelements)

Buddhist Extraterrestrials in Space (sutra)

Wisdom Quarterly translation based on original Maurice Walshe translation ("The Great Steward," Mahā-Govinda Sutra, DN 19)

The following is an elaborate discourse that takes place in space. Benevolent beings well aware of the Buddha regularly gather in "Spaceport 33" (Tavatimsa, Sanskrit, Tratyastrimsa). Meetings are conducted with four space commanders (named in the sutra) entrusted with ruling the skies of Earth and particular kinds of nonhuman beings under their purview.

Walshe's translation is excellent although obscured by British-English and the common portrayal of these characters as heavenly, which leads to assumption that it is myth. But this takes place in space within our solar system. The "heavens" (skies, spheres, zones in space) and devas ("shining ones," angels, godlings, demigods, sky-kings, lords, protectors) are always plural in Buddhism (as they originally were in Christianity). This sutra names and describes some of the most relevant to earthly affairs.

The Great Steward (DN 19)

1. Thus have I heard. Once the Buddha was staying at Rājagaha, on Vultures' Peak. And when the night was nearly over, Pañcasikha of the messenger-devas ("angels" or gandharvas) alighted on Vultures' Peak.

[A brahma named Brahmā Sanankumara materialized in the form of the youth Pañcasikha (literally, "Five Knots") to appear in person; he was wearing his hair tied in five top knots or ringlets as the youth Panchasikkha had worn his hair when he passed away as a young boy].

He lit up the entire Vultures' Peak with a splendid radiance [as would a spacecraft, but devas (literally, "shining ones") emit a radiance, as science has shown humans do, and brahmas are even brighter].

He approached the Buddha, saluted him, stood respectfully to one side, and said: "Venerable sir, I wish to report to you what I have personally seen and observed when I was in the presence of the Thirty-Three Devas."

"Tell me then, Pañcasikha," replied the Buddha.

2. "Venerable sir, in earlier days, long ago, on the lunar observance day of the fifteenth at the end of the rainy season, on the full moon night, all the Thirty-Three Devas were seated in the Hall of Truth -- a great congregation of celestial beings, and the Four Great Sky Kings from the four quarters [eastern, southern, western, and northern skies] were there. There were these great sky kings:

  1. Dhatarattha from the east at the head of his followers sat facing west;
  2. Virulhaka from the south...facing north;
  3. Virupakkha from the west...facing east;
  4. Vessavana from the north...facing south.

On such occasions that is the order in which they are seated, and after that came our seats. And those devas who, having lived the supreme life under the Buddha [now reborn as a result in these celestial worlds as beautifully radiant], had recently appeared in the space world of the Thirty-Three, outshone the other devas in in brightness and glory. And for that reason the Thirty-Three Devas were pleased, happy, filled with delight and joy, rejoicing: ‘The devas' hosts [defensive army] are growing, the titans' (asuras) legions [offensive army] are declining!'

Then Sakka [King of Kings and Lord of Lords, referring to the Four Great Sky Kings already mentioned and the 33 ruling lords of the Realm of the Thirty-Three], seeing the satisfaction of the Thirty-Three, uttered these verses of rejoicing:

"The devas of the Thirty-Three rejoice, their leader too,

Praising the Tathāgata [Buddha], and Dharma's truth,
Seeing new-come devas, fair and glorious
Who've lived the supreme life, now well reborn.
Outshining all the rest in fame and splendor,
The mighty Sage's pupils singled out.
Seeing this, the Thirty-Three rejoice, their leader too,
Praising the Tathāgata, and Dharma's truth."
At this, venerable sir, the Thirty-Three Devas rejoiced still more, saying: "The devas' hosts are growing, the asuras' legions are declining!"

4. [Pañcasikha continued:] "Then Sakka, seeing their satisfaction, said to the Thirty-Three Devas: "‘Would you like, gentlemen, to hear eight truthful statements in praise of the Buddha?" Receiving their assent, he declared:

5. "‘What do you think, my lords of the Thirty-Three? As regards the way in which the Buddha has striven for the welfare of the many, for the happiness of the many, out of compassion for the world, for the welfare and happiness of devas and human beings -- we can find no teacher endowed with such qualities, whether we consider the past or the present, other than the Buddha.

6. "‘Well-proclaimed, truly, is this Buddha's Teaching, visible here and now, timeless [immediately beneficial], inviting inspection, leading onward, to be realized by the wise each one for oneself -- and we can find no proclaimer of such an onward-leading doctrine, either in the past or in the present, other than the Buddha.

7. "‘The Buddha has well explained what is right and what is wrong, what is blameworthy and what is blameless, what is to be followed and what is not to be followed, what is base and what is noble, what is foul, fair, and mixed in quality. And we can find none who is a proclaimer of such things... other than the Buddha.

8. "‘Again, the Buddha has well explained to his disciples the path [The path here is really the practice (patipadā). The Noble Eightfold Path is the "Middle Way" or better the "Middle Practice," majjhima-patipadā] leading to nirvana. And they coalesce, nirvana and the path, just as the waters of the Ganges and Yamunā rivers coalesce and flow on together. And we can find no proclaimer of the path leading to nirvana... other than the Buddha.

9. "‘And the Buddha has gained companions, both learners [those in training who have attained one of the three preliminary stages of enlightenment but not yet the fourth and final stage] and those who, having lived the supreme spiritual life, have abolished the corruptions [arhats, or fully enlightened followers], and the Buddha dwells together with them, all rejoicing in the one thing [liberation from suffering]. And we can find no such teacher... other than the Buddha.

10. "‘The gifts given to the Buddha are well-bestowed, his fame is well established, so much so that, I think, the warrior-caste nobles in India will continue to be attached to him. Yet the Buddha accepts food-offerings without conceit. And we can find no teacher who does this... other than the Buddha.

11. "‘And the Buddha acts as he speaks, and speaks as he acts. And we can find no teacher who does likewise, in every detail of Dharma... other than the Buddha.

12. "‘The Buddha has transcended doubt, passed beyond all 'how' and 'why,' accomplished his aim in regard to his goal and the goal of the supreme way of life. And we can find no teacher who has done likewise, whether we consider the past or the present, other than the Buddha.'"

"And when Sakka had thus proclaimed these eight truthful statements in praise of the Buddha, the Thirty-Three Devas were even more pleased, overjoyed, and filled with delight and happiness at what they had heard in the Buddha's praise.

13. "Then certain devas exclaimed: "Oh, if only four supremely-enlightened-teaching-buddhas were to arise in the world and teach Dharma just like the Blessed One! That would be for the benefit and happiness of the many, out of compassion for the world, for the benefit and happiness of devas and human beings!"

"And some said: ‘Never mind four supremely-enlightened-teaching-buddhas -- three would suffice!' And others said: ‘Never mind three -- two would suffice!'"

14. "At this Sakka said: ‘It is impossible, gentlemen, it cannot happen that two supremely-enlightened-buddhas should arise simultaneously in a single world-system. That cannot be. May this Blessed One continue to live long, for many years to come, free from illness and disease! That would be for the benefit and happiness of the many. Out of compassion for the world, it would be for the benefit and happiness of devas and human beings!'"

Then the Thirty-Three Devas consulted and deliberated about the matter concerning which they had assembled in the Hall of Truth. And the Four Great Sky Kings were advised and admonished on this matter as they stood by their seats unmoving:

The sky kings, instructed, marked the words they spoke, Standing calm, serene, beside their seats.

15-16. "A great radiance was seen, heralding the approach of Brahmā [a higher class of beings more powerful and better endowed than devas]. All took their proper seats... each hoping Brahmā would sit on his couch.

17. Then Brahmā Sanankumāra, having descended from his space world, and seeing their pleasure, uttered these verses:

"The devas of the Thirty-Three rejoice, their leader too..." (as above).

18. "Brahmā Sanankumāra's voice had eight qualities. (It is distinct, intelligible, pleasant, attractive, compact, concise, deep, and resonant).

19. "Then the Thirty-Three Devas said to Brahmā Sanankumāra: ‘It is well, Brahmā! We rejoice at what we have heard. Sakka, Lord of the Devas, has also declared eight truthful statements to us about the Buddha, at which we also rejoice.'"

"Then Brahmā said to Sakka: ‘It is well, Lord of the Devas. And we too would like to hear those eight truthful statements about the Buddha.'"

"‘Very well, Great Brahmā,'" said Sakka as he repeated those eight statements.

20-27. "‘What do you think, Lord Brahmā...?'" And Brahmā Sanankumāra was pleased, overjoyed, filled with delight and happiness at what he had heard in the Buddha's praise.

28. "Brahmā Sanankumāra assumed a grosser form and appeared to the Thirty-Three Devas in the shape of the youth Pañcasikha ("Five Knots").... Rising up in the air, he appeared floating cross-legged. And sitting thus cross-legged, he said to the Thirty-Three Devas: "For how long has the Blessed One [the Buddha] been one of mighty wisdom?

29. "‘Once upon a time there was a king called Disampatī. His court chaplain [purohita, brahmin priest who serves the king as a kind of prime minister] was a brahmin called the Steward.

[Govinda. Rhys Davids notes: "It is evident...that Govinda, literally "Lord of the Herds," was a title, not a name, and means Treasurer or Steward." But people were often known by some designation other than their proper names, probably for taboo reasons. Note how in Scotland the royal house of Stuart derived their name from the Steward who was originally the "sty-ward"].

"The king's son was a youth called Renu, and the Steward's son was called Jotipāla. Prince Renu and Jotipāla, together with six other nobles, formed a band of eight friends.

"In the course of time the Steward died, and King Disampati mourned him, saying: ‘Alas, at the very moment when we had entrusted all our responsibilities to the Steward and were abandoning ourselves to the pleasures of the five senses, the Steward has passed away!'

"Hearing this, Prince Renu said: ‘Sire, do not mourn the Steward's death too much! His son Jotipāla [a name that means "Guardian of the Light"] is cleverer than his father was and has a better eye for what is advantageous.

"‘You should let Jotipāla manage all the business you entrusted to his father.' ‘Is that so, my boy?' ‘Yes, sire.'

30. "Then the king called a man and said: ‘Come here, my good man. Go to the youth Jotipāla and say: "May the reverend Jotipāla be well! King Disampati sends for you. He would like to see you.'

"‘Very good, your majesty,' replied the man who then delivered the message.

On receiving the message, Jotipāla responded: ‘Very good, sir' and went to see the king. On entering the royal presence, he exchanged courtesies with the king, then sat respectfully to one side.

The king said: "We wish the reverend Jotipāla to manage our affairs. Do not refuse. I will install you in your father's place and consecrate ["anoint," suggesting that the office is a royal rank] you as Steward.'

"'Very good, lord,' replied Jotipāla. More (full Walshe translation at Palicanon.org)

Who is Brahmā Sanaṅkumāra?

Brahmā Sanaṅkumāra (Sanskrit, Sanat-kumāra, the "Ever-young") appears in various sutras in the Long Discourses (such as DN 18) where he creates an illusionary presence to make himself perceptible to the coarser senses of Śakka and the devas of Thirty-Three. He addressed these deities in such a way that each of them thought that he was being spoken to alone. He advised them to follow the precepts and practices of the Buddha. And he explained the profitable karmic results that would come from doing so. Commentators explain the epithet of "Ever-young" by saying that he had chosen the appearance of a very young male whose hair was still tied in the adolescent style of "Five Knots" (pancha-sikkha). (See also Four Kumaras. For video, search "Sanatkumara").

Brahma is depicted as having four faces, which is presumed to be symbolic, as if possessing the four qualities necessary for creation or the ability to see in all directions simultaneously. But as a live birth in India in 2008 shows (see video), it is within the range of our genetic makeup to literally have multiple faces.
